Epiphone gibson les paul custom are hard to find. In the Chicago area I recommend talking to specialists who are obsessed with Edward Van Halen, believe it or not they know the most about the electric guitar parts for this particular model. They also tend to know a lot about the Fender Stratocater as well but they tend not to know much about the best replacement pickups for Fenders. I once knew a dude from my local guitar parts depot who gave me the wrong jack plates, and I just about socked him in the face.
I really recommend not dealing with people like that, I recommend you giving them a quiz with how much they know about jack plates and bass tuners before dealing with them any further. Details I will give in my next les paul custom, I’ll provide a regular list of questions I typically ask the people I deal with.Same day shipment is a really good catch for most retailers of electric guitar parts.
One person offered free electric guitar lessons along with the guitar parts just for purchasing his products. Not the best deal because the best electric guitar parts are actually found from your own personal network. Ask your friends, they usually know the most cutting-edge places to get guitar parts, for instance the Elderly is an instrument that is really difficult to find parts for. For jack plates in particular you might need to go to a special store, one of them near my town is called “Bass Bridges, Bass Tuners, and Electric Guitar Parts” it’s a really shady place that looks like a front for other operations but they sell jack plates. They sell electric guitar parts cheap .
The trick with bass guitar like these is you really have to understand how to work the system. Something I’ve had so much trouble finding is the non trem bridge. That equipment is definitely considered a treasure to find in my parts. I eventually learned from a friend of mine in a band that he saw a lot of em brought at a particular thrift store!Don’t doubt the inadequacy of that electric guitar catalog you keep looking at, and start looking elsewhere for real deals. “You first order is free” doesn’t usually cut it, as with many things that is usually a scam.
