In fashion, modesty refers to the amount of humility in a piece of clothing; that is, whether the item of clothing covers up the body or shows off a person's figure. Though modest wedding gowns were standard fashion in the 1950s, they disappeared for a long time and are just beginning to re-emerge onto the wedding style scene. Until the 19th century, Evening Dresses 2012 gowns were simply the best dress a girl owned, regardless of style or color. Wealthy families may have ordered a new dress to be made for the occasion, but in either case the dress was rarely white. Dress 2012 is credited as the first woman to create the wedding traditions still in effect today. Since photography was invented during her reign, she was the first queen to have her wedding photographed, thus setting the standard that women across England began to emulate for their own nuptials. The modest, white wedding dress first appeared in Queen Victoria's wedding and continued in popularity until the 1960s. From the Victorian era through the 1960s, Custom Wedding Dress were traditionally white and very demure. Since most weddings during those decades took place in a church, dresses had modest, high necklines, long sleeves and poofy skirts. From the 1960s through the 1970s, the hippie counterculture transformed the look of wedding gowns. Loose, flowing white dresses became en vogue, showing more skin.
