Just registered cause there's something screwed up with your polling. I just tried to vote (it's been more than 24 hours since I last voted) and I got the error message, but I don't have Adobe installed! Moreover, over at the Kos Blog some techy types are teaching their readers how to cheat and get around your security system. Why can't I vote and what are you doing about cheaters?

Where is the catogory for LIFE ACHIEVEMENT BLOG? I voted for Wil Wheaton and I didn't even see the winners for that one. If you want us to vote for all of the catagories, the least they can do is list all of them. I wanted to know if Wil Wheaton won for his blog.

I just voted on the best video blog category. At the top of the poll results it said that I voted in this category less than 24 hours ago.
I have not voted in this or any other category at all.
Why did it say that to me?

Why did it say that to me? Because you voted just before it said that which is in the last 24 hours. When you vote, your vote is registered and the results page comes up which says that you've voted in the last 24 hours.

My site is nominated in the Best Fashion Blog category, and I have had several people tell me that they tried voting for me, but their vote did not count. (As in, the number of previous votes for my site stayed the same.) They tried to vote again, but were given the message that they already voted. What's up with that?

I'd like to second Realwest's question about how results are tallied. I ask because the results at least at the "Best Liberal Blog" poll are improbable.
I know that Wonkette is a very popular blog, but I don't recall hearing that it's more popular than all other liberal blogs combined, which is what the results imply.
It'd be easier to believe that was a real result if Webby Awards explained what measures are in place to prevent the various varieties of automatic voting.
I've always enjoyed the Webbies, and have found lots of outstanding new-to-me sites that way. Please make sure that your well-deserved popularity doesn't end in meaninglessness!

That should not have happened; I'll look into it. I tested it by voting for Slacker Chick myself, and the vote went through just fine.

Thanks for the compliments. But I should note that the "Webby Awards" are different from the "Weblog Awards." The Webbys are an awards program for websites in general, while the Weblog Awards are an awards program for blogs only. The two programs are unaffiliated with one another. There are new safeguards in place here, to prevent all attempts to spam the vote. And of course the voting logs will be rigorously searched and purged of any fraudulent votesthat happen to get through. I realize Wonkette has a lot of votes, and if any are fake, they will be deleted. But you should also realize that Wonkette's traffic is huge. I see that their site has had 93,000 pageviews so far just today! Given that kind of traffic, and the fact that they are promoting the contest very strongly, and that they have had two days now to vote, I have no trouble believing they might garner about 5,000 legitimate votes.
